What stays in your browser
ProjectBrain currently has no user accounts or ProjectBrain cloud database. Your project details, approved learnings, review status, and aggregate project statistics are saved in your browser's local storage so you can continue later.
Imported files and pasted conversation text are held only for the active analysis. After a successful analysis, ProjectBrain clears the raw conversation text from application state and keeps only the extracted learnings and evidence you review. You can remove all locally saved ProjectBrain data with the delete control in the app.
AI analysis
When you start a non-demo analysis, the selected project context and conversation text are sent through ProjectBrain's server to the configured AI provider. Depending on availability, that provider may be OpenAI, Google Gemini, OpenRouter, or NVIDIA NIM.
ProjectBrain does not use your conversation text for advertising and does not intentionally retain it on its server. The selected AI provider processes the request under its own privacy and retention terms, so only import content you are allowed to share with that provider.
Privacy-safe analytics
ProjectBrain uses PostHog EU for a small set of anonymous, manually defined product events. These events contain coarse values such as the current workflow step, project type, result-count range, and duration range.
Analytics do not include project names or IDs, filenames, prompts, conversation text, evidence, email addresses, raw errors, URLs, paths, referrers, search parameters, approximate location, or device and browser details. Autocapture, session replay, heatmaps, person profiles, GeoIP enrichment, and cross-session identifiers are disabled.
Reliability monitoring
Sentry receives sanitized technical errors so failures can be diagnosed. User identity, request bodies, cookies, conversation-shaped data, and authorization headers are removed before delivery. Better Stack checks only public service availability and the health endpoint.
Vercel hosts the application and may process ordinary infrastructure logs needed to serve and protect the site. ProjectBrain's own structured logs use request IDs, timing, provider name, status, and aggregate counts—not prompts or conversation content.
Your choices and contact
You control which conversations are selected, which extracted learnings are approved, and when local project data is deleted. Clearing this site's browser storage also removes saved ProjectBrain data from that browser.
Questions or privacy requests can be sent to projectbrain.ai@gmail.com. This policy may change as accounts or cloud features are added; material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
